“To be the best, you have to surround yourself with the best…and Spire has managed to do just that. I have the privilege of working with some of the most talented colleagues in their fields, for a dream client, on a project that is both challenging and rewarding. What is there not to love? I am extremely proud to be a part of the Spire family.”
Shannon Knott is a seasoned web developer and graphic designer. With over 18 years of experience, he employs web analytics, search engine optimization and metadata standards as well as Section 508 compliance to meet clients’ online goals and ensure content access to all users. Shannon has a designer’s eye to user interface and web design and subscribes to the notion that design and functionality is just as important as the content being delivered.
As Spire’s new Webmaster, Shannon provides in-house support to the USAID internal web properties. In addition to designing and developing a new intranet home page (and related pages), his responsibilities include designing custom graphics and announcements, providing content creation and management as well as Section 508 compliance verification. Shannon also assists the Web Management team in facilitating new design, development, and overall web strategy.
Prior to joining Spire, Shannon served as the technical lead, Scrum Master, and senior developer for the US Department of State’s Office of International Information Programs. He assisted in the design, development, deployment, and management of over 450 embassy and consulate web sites. Shannon served as Scrum Master on high profile projects including the design and migration of all embassy sites to two CMS platforms and a Public Diplomacy SalesForce integration project.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys family time, tinkering with old cars, golf, traveling, and the great outdoors.
Shannon earned his Bachelor’s degree from George Mason University.
