Public Relations Account Director – Science & Technology

Spire Communications, a growing public relations and marketing communications agency in Alexandria, Va., seeks a senior-level communications professional with a focus on media relations and writing with a strong background in science and technology.

We work with clients in government and industry who are pioneering research and development efforts ranging from biomedical devices to robotics. We have the good fortune of working with brilliant scientists and amazing engineers, helping them translate their genius into materials the public can understand. We seek a new addition to our team.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, great interpersonal skills, and experience with highly technical and scientific material. The preferred candidate will have direct experience working with defense-related government programs. Holding a security clearance is a plus.

All candidates must possess demonstrated expertise in:

  • Media relations
  • Writing and editing
  • Speaker placement
  • Account management
  • Presentation development

This is not an entry or mid-level position. We seek a highly qualified, individual with specific experience who is able to manage large, multifaceted accounts independently and with minimal supervision.
